Integrity

What are the benefits of being a person of integrity?

A person of integrity is honest, truthful, sincere, morally upright, reliable and trustworthy.
Everywhere you go, everything you do speaks about your integrity. Standing for what is right and speaking the truth is not always easy, but when you have purposed in your heart to be a person of integrity, God will supply the grace and you will receive God’s blessings both here and eternally.
The Bible says in 1Samuel16:7b “for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart”.
There are so many benefits of being a person of integrity:- As Christians, God’s light shines through us in a world full of darkness (Phil.2:15). When we walk and live a life of Integrity, we can be an effective witness for Jesus; a good ambassador (Matt.5:16).
Integrity gives you a good name. Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” See also Prov.28:6; Eccl 7:1
Integrity protects you. Proverbs11:4 says, “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
Integrity blesses those around you. In Genesis39 Joseph’s refusal of the advances of Potiphar’s wife showed that he was a man of integrity and verses 2, 3 says “And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand”.
Integrity is a delight to God; that means it pleases God. Prov.11:1 says, “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.” NKJV God hates cheating; He loves it when people are honest.
Integrity will defend you. A good example was of Daniel who was promoted to be one of the presidents over King Darius’s kingdom. Daniel had an excellent spirit in him; he was preferred above the other presidents and princes. This caused envy among them and they looked for a way to put Daniel in trouble. But because Daniel was a person of integrity, they could find no error of fault in him. Daniel6:4, 5 says “ Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Then said these men, we shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”
Integrity will bless your generation. Proverbs20:7 says “The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.” King Solomon was blessed because his father David walked in integrity. 1Kings9:4a says, “And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness...” See also Prov.13:22
Integrity will bless you because God says I will honour those that honour me. (1Sam2:30b)
Integrity will show your love for God because John14:23 says, “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” Integrity will guide you in the right path when you have to make decisions (Prov.11:3)
Integrity will give you boldness because you have a clear conscience. Proverbs28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
